FAQ

Answers before you ask.

Straight answers on working with ADAMYX, specifications, samples and supply, and the materials themselves.

Working with ADAMYX

How do I start a project with ADAMYX?

Share your requirement by drawing, request for quotation or a short description. ADAMYX then holds a technical review to confirm configurations and specifications, offers evaluation samples where appropriate, and agrees supply. Email sales@adamyx.com or use the inquiry form.

Can I send a drawing under NDA?

Yes. ADAMYX offers an NDA and confidential development route for sensitive drawings and requirements. Contact us first, agree the NDA, then share your files. You do not need to disclose details beforehand.

Who is ADAMYX?

ADAMYX Advanced Materials Inc. is part of Shish Group, based at 37 W 47th Street, Suite 1302, New York, NY 10036. We provide diamond materials and precision components, with worldwide support from New York.

Is there a standard catalogue I can order from?

The site lists product families and forms so you can specify what you need. Configurations are confirmed in technical review rather than ordered from fixed stock. Tell us your requirement and we will agree the route.

How can I contact ADAMYX?

Email sales@adamyx.com or call +1 332 265 9450. You can also send a requirement through the inquiry form. Include your application, product family and any drawing so the first reply can be specific.

Specifications

Do you publish specification values?

Not for ADAMYX products at this stage. Values are confirmed for each application during technical review. The site lists the specification topics you should state, such as thickness, orientation and surface finish, so you can prepare your requirement.

What should I include in a requirement?

Include the application, material or product form, dimensions and tolerances, surface or finish needs, operating conditions and any test method you rely on. A drawing is the clearest route. Each family page lists what we will ask.

Can I get a certificate or inspection report?

Inspection plans and test records are agreed for each project during technical review. We do not assume a standard report applies to every part. State the records you need when you send your requirement.

Is optical grade the same as electronic grade?

No. Grades are defined by different properties. Optical grade focuses on absorption at a wavelength. Electronic grade focuses on impurities and defects that affect electrical behaviour. Specify the property that matters and how it is tested.

Can you make a non-standard shape?

Possibly. Custom diamond components are reviewed against a dimensioned drawing, tolerances and functional surfaces. Feasibility is confirmed in technical review before any commitment is made.

Samples and supply

Are evaluation samples available?

Yes, where appropriate. ADAMYX offers paid evaluation samples, scoped to your evaluation. Describe what you intend to test and the measurement method, and we will agree what to supply.

Why are evaluation samples paid?

Paid samples keep the evaluation scoped and serious for both sides. The scope, quantity and conditions are agreed in advance. Contact sales@adamyx.com to discuss your evaluation plan.

What happens after a successful evaluation?

You move to agreed supply. The specification, inspection plan and supply terms are confirmed with you based on your evaluation results and drawings. Nothing is assumed in advance.

Do you quote prices on the website?

No. Pricing depends on material, size, finish and the agreed specification, so ADAMYX quotes after technical review. Send a drawing or request for quotation to start.

Do you support customers outside the United States?

Yes. ADAMYX is based in New York and offers worldwide support. Contact us with your location and requirement so the supply route can be discussed.

Materials

What is CVD diamond?

CVD diamond is synthetic diamond grown from a carbon-containing gas by chemical vapour deposition. Growth conditions can be controlled to tune purity, doping and structure. It is used for heat spreaders, optics, tools, sensors and electrodes.

What is the difference between single-crystal and polycrystalline CVD diamond?

Single-crystal CVD diamond is one continuous crystal with no grain boundaries. Polycrystalline diamond is made of many grains and is easier to produce in large discs. Choose single crystal for crystal-dependent performance, polycrystalline for larger areas.

Why is diamond used for thermal management?

Diamond conducts heat far better than copper, so it can spread heat from a small source. It is also an electrical insulator in its undoped form. Real-world results depend on interfaces, geometry and cooling.

What is boron-doped diamond used for?

Boron doping makes diamond electrically conductive. It is used for electrodes in water treatment and electrochemical sensing, and in some electronic uses. Doping level and surface condition affect behaviour.

Is CVD diamond different from natural diamond?

CVD diamond is grown, so its purity, thickness and form can be controlled for engineering use. It is the same carbon material, but selected and made for a specified property rather than for gem value.
